Class Teacher Year 3-4 St Nicholas CofE Primary School, East Challow NOR: 96
Main Scale or UPS if Post Threshold
Full-time - Permanent
Post to start: 1st January 2017 (or April 2017 for the right candidate).
Are you an outstanding, inspiring and creative teacher with a passion for learning, committed to bringing out the best in every pupil, ready to take on responsibility and extend your professional development?
St Nicholas is a delightful Church of England village primary school in East Challow near Wantage. We have a friendly team of 12 staff who are dedicated to providing outstanding teaching and learning within a nurturing Christian environment that brings out the best in pupils. Our pupils are exceptionally well behaved, keen to learn and a pleasure to teach.
We are looking for an experienced teacher who can demonstrate the right qualities to teach at St Nicholas in our Year 3-4 class. The successful candidate will be someone who can pass on their passion for learning to our pupils; enable them to make the progress in numeracy and literacy that they need for their next steps; and someone who is able to grow and nurture pupils’ sense of awe and wonder in the world around them through creating rich learning experiences. An ability to lead a core subject area is desirable and we are looking to develop the role of SENCO at St Nicholas with a suitably experienced candidate.
St Nicholas was inspected by Ofsted in June 2013 and graded as ‘good’ in all areas. We pride ourselves in a high standard of teaching that is creative, challenging and maximises progress; warm and strong relationships between staff and children built on positivity, encouragement and enthusiasm; and a close relationship with the local community, church and schools.
St Nicholas is a member of the Vale Academy Trust; a local multi-academy trust of schools in the Wantage area comprising King Alfred’s Academy, Wantage CE Primary School, Charlton Primary School, Millbrook, St James CE Primary School and St Nicholas. The Vale Academy Trust offers a wide range of opportunities for ambitious teachers and many staff have achieved promotion within the Trust.
The successful candidate will:
Be an outstanding, inspiring and creative teacher, able to teach in both KS1 or KS2
Support the Christian ethos of the school
Be passionate about the well-being of pupils and be a role-model to the school community
Have a proven track record of raising attainment and accelerating progress
Be enthusiastic and have high expectations of all pupils
Have a sound understanding of target setting, assessment data and pupil tracking
Be an effective communicator, able to develop and maintain positive relationships
